Make ANY vegan meat from ONE bag in 15 minutes

Base Recipe:
3 Cups water
Salt
2 heaping cups or 110g Soy Chunks
2-4 T oil
½ tsp of onion powder
½ tsp of garlic powder

Chicken version:
– add 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning with onion and garlic powder step
– Deglaze with vinegar

Beef version:
– Add 2-3 glugs soy sauce to the water while you get it to a boil
– deglaze with vegan worcestershire sauce

Ham:
– Optionally add 2 drops red food dye to water while it gets to a boil
– add 1/2 tsp sugar and a generous pinch of salt and a 1/2 tsp liquid smoke with onion and garlic powder step
– deglaze with vegan worcestershire sauce

Steps:
– Boil and salt water (for beef skip the salt)
– Add in soy chunks and simmer for 5 minutes
– Once tender drain, cool, and squeeze out water.
– To a preheated and oiled pan saute your chunks until lightly browned
– Add seasonings
– Deglaze and serve

  1. I will try to find soy chunks locally. Ordered the 6 pound bulk bag from Fake Meats and they shorted me almost a pound!

  2. Nutrela is a brand you can look for to find these relatively cheaply in Indian grocery stores.

  3. What’s wrong with fresh onion and fresh garlic? Garlic powder tastes like……….powdered garlic. Can nobody else taste this?
